Job Description SummaryThis position is an entry-level clerical classification performing minimally difficult tasks under direct supervision within Records Retention. All tasks are tailored to fit the business needs and processes for the organizational unit. The primary functions of the unit are preserving the records and paperwork of the Court using various mediums and processes for retention.Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Prepares documents for scanning.
- Identifies, organizes and sorts legal paperwork.
- Researches and provides a follow-through response to problems.
- Inputs data into a computer system.
- Scans court documents into system.
- Researches and verifies completeness and accuracy of specific information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- English composition, grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Office practices and procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic filing skills.
- Work quickly, accurately and switch focus between multiple tasks.
- Follow brief oral and written instructions quickly and accurately.
- Work with an automated system.
- Operate or learn a variety of office machines: fax, photocopier, and scanners.
- Plan and coordinate duties to meet time restraints.
- Effectively interact with other court personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Complete the Clerk of the Superior Court word processing and data entry test (within the past 12 months). Word processing and data entry skills will be considered in the selection process.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
None required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typically performs duties in an office environment.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a court classified position reporting to the Deputy Court Clerk Supervisor within the Records Retention unit. This position performs duties under direct supervision.
