GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
At the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, we strive to provide quality legal services to state agencies to effect better outcomes for Wyoming citizens. The Civil Division of the Wyoming Attorney General's Office is seeking an attorney to join its Contracts Unit. The attorney in this position will review, edit, negotiate, and draft contracts for assigned state agencies, boards, and commissions to ensure the State’s contracts sufficiently protect the legal interests of the State and the contracting agency. This includes reviewing all contracts submitted by agency clients within statutory time limits and advising agency clients with respect to relevant contracting statutes and administrative procedures. This attorney also instructs agency clients and AG staff on the contract review process, drafting requirements, and use of the CobbleStone contract management system. This position will also perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the Civil Division and the Attorney General's Office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.- Edit, research, and review state contracts for proper form, ambiguity, and inconsistency of language;
- Research contract language and the potential effect of special contract provisions;
- Assist agency clients in the development of contract templates for specialized contract areas.
- Counsel agency clients; negotiate with contractors; assist agency clients with special language, and consult with agency advising attorneys as needed;
- Review proposed legislation and draft bill reviews to advise the Governor and agency clients;
- Advise and train agency clients with respect to contract drafting, use of the CobbleStone contract management system, and use of DocuSign for contract execution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Juris Doctorate.- Necessary Special Requirements
NOTES:
- FLSA: Exempt
- Salary is commensurate with relevant legal experience
- Successful applicants are required to pass a criminal background investigation
- This is an at-will position. The attorney will be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Attorney General (Wyo. Stat. Ann. § 9-1-608)
