Job Description


The Vice President, Legal role will cover all legal functions within the company. This person will ensure that 

the company always operates within the law, offer counsel on legal issues, oversee contract lifecycle 

management (CLM) for the company’s customer and vendor contracts, and serve as a trusted adviser in the 

development and implementation of the company’s business strategy. The successful candidate will be able 

to ensure legal compliance and limit risk exposure while bringing organizational best practices to ark’s legal 

function. To ensure success you need to have sound knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and 

regulations (with a good sense of when to seek outside counsel support), excellent organizational skills, and 

the ability to make prudent legal decisions informed by the business goals of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide prudent and accurate legal guidance, informed by the business goals of the company, to the 

executive team and employees on all matters that affect the company.

• Manage the entire legal contract lifecycle, primarily with customers and vendors, including contract 

drafting and negotiation, internal approvals and execution, implementation including tracking of 

contractual compliance, contract archiving, renewals and termination. 

• Act as company secretary at board meetings and keep comprehensive and accurate books and 

records of the company.

• Advise on employment law matters and draft/review independent contractor and employment 

agreements.

• Conduct legal research on various matters as they arise.

• Periodically review the company’s litigation strategy with the executive team and manage ongoing 

litigation with support from outside counsel.

• Ensure the company has up-to-date policies and implements appropriate procedures for 

compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including corporate laws, anti-bribery/anticorruption/AML, workplace safety, data protection, etc.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• JD degree

• 8-12 years of legal experience, preferably with some law firm experience followed by in-house 

experience in progressively more responsible positions, including a demonstrated ability to 

achieve goals and objectives and manage key client/constituent relationships.

• Preference for experience in the digital assets / data centers / fiber sector or other related fields.

Technical Knowledge:

• Solid knowledge of corporate law and business contract drafting.

• Knowledge of some combination of the following legal areas: tech/digital assets-specific business 

contracting, intellectual property law, data protection, employment law, real estate law, business 

litigation.

• A clear understanding of the legal and risk issues that face businesses in the private sector.

• A working knowledge of sound business practices.

• Knowledge of risk management (a risk taker who carefully considers risk/reward).


Compensation:

The compensation for this position ranges are $180,000 - $250,000 annual pay. Final offer amounts are

determined by multiple factors including experience and skillsets.

Ark offers corporate sponsored bonus. Bonus eligibility is determined by company financial metrics, 

including revenue growth.
