Job Summary:
Cohen & Steers’ Legal and Compliance Department is seeking exceptional candidates for a full-time summer associate opportunity with the Corporate Legal team. The legal summer associate will gain experience working in the legal department of a publicly traded global asset manager. Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Assist in-house counsel with various legal projects related to the company’s onshore and offshore investment products and services
- Support in-house counsel with corporate governance matters and compliance with public company reporting requirements
- Assist with conducting legal research on new and amended rules and regulations, summarize key highlights, and help formulate organizational response
- Review corporate policies and procedures and suggest enhancement
- Assist the team with routine legal matters, including contract management, marketing material review and review of SEC filings
- Support in-house counsel by preparing for board and committee meetings
- Engage in educational opportunities led by in-house counsel to gain insight on legal functions relating to the company’s registered funds and other onshore and offshore investment products and services
Minimum Requirements:
- Undergraduate student with expected graduation date in 2027
- Interest in working in an in-house legal environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Innovative, creative, and entrepreneurial spirit; welcomes change and challenge
- Teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills

- Able to meet the firm's work arrangement policy in our New York City office (5 days in-office)
