Job Summary
The Paralegal at Arizona Center for Cancer Care (AZCCC) supports the In-House Counsel by providing comprehensive legal and administrative assistance within a multi-site oncology physician group. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and discretion, as well as the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated healthcare environment. The Paralegal contributes to corporate governance, contract management, healthcare-related legal matters, and day-to-day legal operations in close coordination with internal teams and at times outside counsel.
Duties and responsibilities
- Maintains and updates Excel-based trackers and reports related to contracts, deadlines, legal matters, and document status.
- Prepares notes, summaries, or meeting documentation for executive and legal discussions as requested by In-House Counsel.
- Provides day-to-day support to In-House Counsel on legal and administrative matters.
- Assists with drafting, reviewing, organizing, formatting, and maintaining contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Maintains and manages contract databases, legal files, and document retention systems in accordance with AZCCC policies.
- Supports corporate governance activities, including preparation, organization, and maintenance of board materials, resolutions, consents, and meeting minutes.
- Coordinates responses to subpoenas, audits, and document requests from governmental agencies or third parties, under the direction of In-House Counsel.
- Supports employment- and physician-related legal matters, including preparation and organization of documentation in coordination with Human Resources and legal counsel.
- Organizes and maintains litigation files, discovery materials, and deposition transcripts; prepares summaries as directed.
- Conducts basic legal and regulatory research as assigned.
- Liaises with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to facilitate document flow, follow-up, and legal coordination.
- Supports special projects and performs other related duties as assigned to support AZCCC’s legal operations.

Qualifications
Qualifications/Education Requirements
- Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or related field required, bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or related field preferred.
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited program required if the degree is in a non-legal field.
- Minimum of three (3) plus years of paralegal experience in a corporate, healthcare, or regulated environment.
- Experience with contract administration, legal document preparation, and legal file management.
- Ability to demonstrate experience with contract administration, legal document preparation, and legal file management.
Licensure and Certifications
- Paralegal certification preferred.
