
- Summary
This position is to complete administrative assistance to the municipal court. This is accomplished by responding to requests and inquiries; processing and entering court information; processing payment, subpoenas and warrants; setting cases for trial; processing subpoenas and summons; working with court dockets; and responding to attorneys.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Sets cases for trial by reviewing information; entering data; setting dates and times; notifying potential jurors; informing defendants of case dates; preparing dockets; and processing post-trial monies and records.
- Completes administrative duties by sorting and distributing mail; processing judicial correspondence; updating court calendars; processing warrant, bonds, and jail information; answering the phone and responding to inquiries; communicating with outside agencies; and ensuring all records are filed and retained.
- Provides customer service by answering the phone and referring callers; processing correspondence and requests from defendants; receiving payments; scheduling payment plans; processing deferred disposition cases; and responding to defensive driving inquiries.
- Examines legal documents submitted to court for adherence court procedures, prepares case folders, and posts, files, or routes documents.
- Secures information for judges, and contacts witnesses, attorneys, and litigants to obtain information for court, and instructs parties when to appear in court.
- Responsible for the accurate accounting of court receipts on a daily basis, maintains security with cash drawer.
- Records case disposition, court orders, and arrangement for payment of court fees.
- Collects court fees or fines and records amounts collected.

- Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Municipal Court Clerk I Certification preferred.
Ability to be certified for TCIC/NCIC
Ability to be a Notary Public
