Salary
This position performs administrative duties in support of department operations.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; refers to appropriate personnel; takes messages.
- Maintains office supply inventory; makes purchases as needed.
- Updates information in computerized databases.
- Opens new cases for investigators.
- Opens, sorts and distributes mail.
- Prepares invoices for copy charges.
- Assists investigators with preparing notices for mailing.
- Mails Grand Jury letters.
- Receives and forwards faxes.
- Performs related duties.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job related software programs.
- Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and functions.
- Skill in the provision of customer services.
- Skill in public and interpersonal relations.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
