The Opportunity:


CACI is seeking a Paralegal to support the Department of Justice’s mission. This position plays a critical role and involves working on high-profile cases. CACI is looking for candidates who are able to work in Washington, DC. Paralegal duties focus on litigation support in preparation for upcoming trials in the months ahead.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will perform provide litigation services to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Review investigative reports, testimonies, interviews, fi les, and documents for a variety of, criminal cases to become familiar with the issues, and

  • Identify pertinent material.

  • Read and analyze reports of investigating agencies.

  • Sort through and read subpoenaed documents.

  • Identify and summarize portions that may be relevant to particular cases.

  • Establish and maintain an effective system of compiling, indexing, and organizing information and its sources.

  • Participate and assist in preparation for trial by compiling, organizing, and indexing various evidentiary exhibits.

  • Mark and identify trial exhibits and draft a list of exhibits to be offered at trial.

  • Prepare narrative summaries, charts, tables, graphs, or other visual aids to be used at trial.

  • Assist with copying, mailing, closing files, maintaining pleadings.

  • The candidate will be asked to assist with other administrative tasks as the sole support person in the branch office.

  • Work in an office setting; some walking, standing, bending and carrying of small office items is required.


Qualifications:

  • Requires a paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.

  • At least 1 year of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience very helpful including 1 year of experience in automated litigation support

  • Sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.

Pay Range:

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
 

Minimum Required Hourly Wage:

$25.58
