
Hoge Fenton, a distinguished multi-service law firm, headquartered in downtown San Jose, is seeking a Senior Employment Law Attorney to join our Employment Law group.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a trusted advisor and possess extensive experience in advising and counseling employers on the full spectrum of employment law issues, and in employment law litigation, including defense against FEHA and Title VII claims, wage and hour claims, class and PAGA claims, and the defense and prosecution of trade secret and unfair competition claims. Experience representing clients in court, arbitration, and before administrative agencies, including the EEOC, CRD, and DLSE, is required. Additionally, the candidate should bring at least a partial book of portable business.
· Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
· Active membership in the State Bar of California
· Minimum of 8 years of experience in employment law litigation
· Proven track record in handling complex employment law matters
· Strong analytical, negotiation, consulting, and communication skills
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Key Responsibilities
· Provide expert legal counsel and representation in employment law litigation
· Assist clients with defense against FEHA, Title VII, and related common law claims
· Defend class and PAGA action cases
· Handle trade secret and unfair competition actions
· Defend wage and hour claims
· Represent clients before state and federal administrative agencies
· Develop and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor
· Actively pursue business development opportunities to assist in growth of the firm’s employment law practice
· Present employment law trainings and seminars for clients
· Supervise and mentor associates
Location
This position can be based in any of our offices: Silicon Valley (downtown San Jose), Tri-Valley (Pleasanton), or Peninsula (San Mateo). Travel between locations may be necessary.
Compensation
Compensation packages for senior attorneys are negotiated depending on their expected production. Pay scale is defined to include the range of base pay (estimated to be $175,000 – $225,000/yr) and may include incentive compensation ranging from 10% -20% of fees paid.
