
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Paralegal to independently support ongoing investigations and cases within the Criminal Division by performing a wide range of administrative and case-support functions. These include document management and review, conducting searches within various data and document sets, analyzing and summarizing data and organizing and managing case files.
Responsibilities:
Work professionally and effectively with all levels of staff, including legal support teams, document management teams, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSAs).
Collaborate and facilitate work processes with other staff members as part of a team.
Meet established deadlines and manage multiple assignments in a professional office setting.
Interact with the public and staff in a courteous and tactful manner.
Use office equipment and software, including:
◦ Personal computers, scanners, copy and fax machines.
◦ Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
◦ Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Ideally, have experience with legal document review platforms such as Eclipse, Relativity, and/or CaseMap.
Search and analyze publicly available materials and governmental databases to identify potential violations of federal fraud or related statutes.
Review and interpret highly complex and technical documents, including pharmaceutical and financial data.
Prepare a wide variety of legal documents, including:
◦ Indictments, complaints, affidavits, applications, notices, motions, orders, subpoenas, search warrants, briefs, and memoranda.
Assist AUSAs by:
◦ Interviewing agents and potential witnesses.
◦ Reviewing, summarizing, and outlining grand jury and/or trial testimony.
Provide litigation support by managing and organizing case files for trial presentation.
Prepare and organize exhibits such as statistical charts, photographs, and other visual materials.
Monitor the progress of pending cases to ensure timely preparation and submission of pleadings, reports, correspondence, and legal forms.
Qualifications:
Required:
A Paralegal Certificate, Juris Doctor (JD), or current enrollment in an ABA-accredited law school with the successful completion of at least one year of study. Note: One year of legal training or legal experience, or two years of college education, may be substituted for the paralegal certificate.
A minimum of two years of litigation paralegal experience or equivalent project-based legal experience (related to the task order) is required. Trial experience is highly preferred.
Experience with automated litigation support tools is valued. Candidates must have a solid understanding of legal procedures, including the ability to accurately cite-check legal motions and memoranda.
Proficiency with legal research platforms, such as LEXIS and Westlaw, and the ability to conduct basic legal research independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with hands-on experience using a range of computer applications, including:
◦ Word processing (e.g., Microsoft Word)
◦ Spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
◦ Databases (e.g., document review systems and case file management tools
◦ Imaging applications and standard office hardware
Basic familiarity with Electronically Stored Information (ESI) tools and working knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver high-quality work under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team in a professional setting.
Desired:
Experience reviewing complex technical and/or pharmaceutical data and documents. Background in medical billing, finance, economics, or accounting through prior experience, training, or education.

Pay Range:
This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
Minimum Required Hourly Wage:
$25.38
