FBFK Law is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our San Diego office and support the Managing Partner and another attorney in our Trust & Estate Planning practice.
This is a full-time, on-site position for a polished, proactive professional with 3+ years of legal assistant experience, strong judgment, and prior experience providing executive administrative support in a client-facing environment. The role supports sophisticated, high-net-worth clients and requires someone who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities- Provide legal administrative support to the Managing Partner, attorneys and paralegal in the Trust & Estate Planning practice
- Prepare, proofread, revise, and finalize correspondence, estate planning documents, and related materials
- Coordinate client meetings, document signings, calendars, and follow-up items
- Communicate professionally with clients, including high-net-worth individuals and families
- Manage the Managing Partner’s calendar, travel arrangements, expense reports, and general executive support needs
- Draft emails and other correspondence for attorney review
- Assist with billing follow-up internally and with clients
- Maintain matter files, client records, and related firm systems
- Answer and route office phones as needed
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of legal assistant experience in a law firm or professional services environment
- Prior executive support experience supporting a partner, managing partner, senior attorney, or executive
- Available to work in office M-F from 8:30am to 5:30pm PT, and support occassional after-hour events
- Strong client service skills and experience in a client-facing role
- Excellent organization, communication, and proofreading skills
- Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document/calendaring systems
Compensation
- The anticipated pay range for this position is $70,000–$85,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, internal equity, geographic considerations, and business needs.
- This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable federal and California law.
