Job Description

Duties Position is located in the Bureau of Prison's (BOP) External Auditing Branch (EAB) in Central Office. Provides management in the areas of American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation and Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) audits. Serves as a liaison for contact with external auditing agencies such as the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Office of Inspector General (OIG). Monitors Institution Character Profiles (ICP) and Pilot Initiatives. Acts as management's representative and is responsible for ensuring management's position and rationale are clearly articulated by ensuring the proper officials are involved are fully prepared for their role in the audit. Coordinates relations with external governmental and non-governmental agencies authorized to conduct program audits of the BOP. Reviews all program audit review findings and results from conferences, on-site visits, and other available information. Identifies the issues/significant risk areas to examine; determines the methodology to apply; analyzed the data; develops solutions or correction action plans and communicates findings.
