Job Description

Duties Works with the Central Inmate Monitory System (CIMS) and serves as a CIMS Classification Specialist. Provide a high level of review for transfers, temporary releases, or community activities. Responsible for monitoring the initial classification of inmates that includes development, review, and evaluation of all CIMS policies and procedures in collaboration with the regions and other specialists in the Inmate Monitoring Section (IMS). Responsible for tracking, investigating, and responding to tasks/inquiries related to an inmate's separation concerns during the initial CIMS classification at the time of designation. Provides training to DSCC staff regarding the CIMS Program Statement and Technical Manual. Reviews designation material to ensure the CIMS documentation provided meets policy requirements. Responsible for the development, establishment, ongoing enhancement and implementation of an electronic CIMS documentation database while working closely with the System Development Branch in the Information, Policy and Public Affairs Division, fellow IMS staff, DSCC staff, field staff as well as the U.S Marshals Service and Executive Office for the U.S. Attorneys to coordinate the implementation and use of the database and all associated programs and applications.
