Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. 

This role will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or Omaha, Nebraska.

As an integral member of our fast-paced, well-rounded, collaborative, and fun Legal & Public Policy team, you will play an active role in fulfilling LinkedIn's mission of connecting the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful.

In this role, you will focus on addressing the novel and complex legal and business issues that confront a fast-growing company committed to innovation. You will work primarily with our sourcing teams negotiating agreements for the purchase of an array of goods and services, including professional, marketing and managed services, software licenses, Software-as-a-Services and other technology transactions. You will collaborate with the business, other members of the Legal & Public Policy team, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently draft, review and negotiate agreements including software, data and content licenses, cloud service agreements, professional services agreements, construction and design agreements, property and equipment leases, publicity releases and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Provide daily legal support to the LinkedIn Global Strategic Sourcing team, Real Estate and Workplace Operations and the LinkedIn Learning Solutions Content Management team regarding contractual obligations, intellectual property rights, and data protection and privacy agreements.
  • Act as a legal partner to the LinkedIn procurement, contingent workforce, accounts payable, information security, risk management, and other stakeholder teams on contractual, privacy and compliance issues.
  • Optimize contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation and management processes for the Legal & Public Policy team to create leverage and efficiency.
  • Provide support to senior attorneys as needed.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • J.D. and admission to the bar or the ability to practice in-house in your office location
  • 3+ years' experience practicing as a  transactions attorney, including 2+ years of  experience in contracting for professional or outsourced services, workplace management or construction services, software licenses, cloud/SaaS agreements, or marketing and creative content services.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate agreements independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to manage various deals and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships with teams across various disciplines and seniority levels
  • A proficient understanding of global data privacy and security frameworks
  • Experience with AI-related transactions
  • Provides exceptional customer service
  • Exercises sound business judgment and escalates material issues to senior attorneys as needed
  • Sense of humor and positive “can-do” attitude

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $120,000 to $195,000.  Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
