Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Remediation/Litigation Expert/Expert Witness to join our Environmental Services team. The successful candidate will provide advanced technical expertise and strategic guidance for environmental remediation projects, serve as a subject matter expert during litigation cases, and represent GHD clients as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
This role involves managing complex remediation cases, preparing and delivering expert testimony, providing litigation support, and collaborating with legal teams and project stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Support complex environmental remediation projects, including the investigation, assessment, and remediation of contaminated sites.
- Act as an expert witness in legal proceedings, providing testimony on remediation strategies, regulatory compliance, and environmental impacts.
- Prepare expert reports and analyses to support litigation, arbitration, or dispute resolution processes.
- Collaborate with legal teams, clients, regulators, and other stakeholders to provide expert input on environmental litigation matters.
- Develop remediation strategies and provide oversight during project implementation, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Stay updated on emerging environmental laws, regulations, and best practices in remediation and litigation.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Assist in business development by supporting proposal efforts, client relationship management, and participation in relevant conferences and professional networks.
- Ensure quality assurance and control (QA/QC) across all aspects of project execution and reporting.
What you will bring to the team: |
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in environmental remediation, litigation support, and expert witness testimony.
- Proven experience leading large-scale environmental remediation projects and working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to provide expert witness testimony in legal cases, with a strong understanding of litigation processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- Strong technical writing skills with experience preparing expert reports, legal briefs, and remediation plans.
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, particularly in courtroom or legal settings.
- Professional licensure (P.E., P.G., or other relevant certifications) is strongly preferred.
- Experience in managing client relationships and supporting business development activities.
