Senior Paralegal – Family Law Client
Location: Irvine, CA
Reports To: Founder

Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support attorneys by handling various administrative and substantive legal tasks. This role is essential to the smooth functioning of their legal operations, with responsibilities spanning a broad range of legal support duties within a family law setting.
 

Responsibilities
  • Enter data into the client’s databases for conflict checks and customer relationship management software
  • Work independently and manage tasks autonomously
  • Assist with deposition preparation
  • Complete discovery (propounding and responding)
  • Manage and track deadlines, hearings, and appointments on legal calendars
  • Organize, redact, bates stamp, and combine voluminous digital files
  • Prepare and manage documents for e-filing and internal organization
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, documents, voicemails, and shared files
  • Draft correspondence, emails, pleadings, disclosures, and judicial council forms
  • Handle records processing, including e-filing, service, preparation of proofs of service, bate-stamping, redacting, and inventorying
  • Support trial preparation including creation of trial binders and document duplication
  • Maintain and update attorney calendars, assist in preparing for and confirming appointments and appearances
  • Meet minimum billing requirements
  • Scan, copy, organize, title, and save documents accurately
  • Retrieve and deliver documents for attorneys and staff as needed
  • Provide comprehensive support to attorneys across various tasks

Qualifications
  • Paralegal Certificate or ability to qualify as a legal assistant per California Business & Professions Code
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a family law firm setting
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience with Smokeball, Adobe Pro, ShareFile, and Ring Central is a plus
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, photocopier, postage machine, scanner)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks
  • Team-oriented with a positive and flexible attitude
