Job Description

Duties Serves as a Technical Writer-Editor in the National Institute of Corrections. Directs operations that involve the collection and evaluation of information from all components of NIC and non-NIC sources, in order to fulfill the duties and responsibilities associated with the writing, ·editing, production, anq/or review of a variety of publications, reports, and other print-based media (whether disseminated in hard copy or on the web) regarding, involving, and affecting NIC, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and the corrections field. Uses knowledge and expertise to compose, develop, and/ or finalize written products (e.g., speeches, Congressional testimony, publications, manuals, and documents) that articulate and explain complex, sensitive, and sometimes controversial agency policies, programs, and operations. Reviews and finalizes written products for clarity, presentation, style, grammar, appropriateness for audience, accuracy and consistency with NIC policy, programs, and operations. Salary- $102,415 - $133,142/year
