LOCATION:  
Hybrid in Boulder, Colorado (M – Th in the office; F work from home) 
 
JOB TYPE: Intern; 10 to 12 weeks beginning May 19, 2025

Reporting to the General Counsel and Chief Human Resources Officer, you will assist with various projects including contract drafting and review, updating policies and procedures, contract management, records retention and risk assessment.
 
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: 
 
Contract Summarization & Database Management 
  • Review and summarize contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Input summarized agreements and relevant data into the company's contract management database.
  • Assist in organizing and cataloging existing contracts and related documents.
Record Retention Policy Drafting 
  • Assist in drafting a comprehensive records retention policy in line with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review existing records management practices and recommend improvements where necessary.
Cross-Department Collaboration 
  • Meet with various departments (e.g., finance, HR, operations) to assess current records and filing practices.
  • Assist in identifying areas for improvement and work with teams to align records management practices with legal requirements.
Risk Assessment 
  • Complete a risk assessment of company operations and practices
  • Identify potential legal and compliance risks and work with the Legal team to propose solutions.
Additional Duties as Assigned 
  • Support the Legal team in general administrative and legal research tasks as needed.
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:  
  • Completed at least one year of law school.
  • Basic understanding of contract law and records management practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and comfortable with legal databases and software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to quickly learn new concepts.
  • Clear and concise communication skills

COMPENSATION:  
Base salary range: $1600 to $2000 weekly. While this salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, a candidate’s actual salary will be competitive based on a variety of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and location.
