Location: Nashville, TN

About the Team:

The team of attorneys on our Legal and Compliance team provide thoughtful and timely advice, as well as collaborative partnership with the global business teams throughout the firm. The team interacts with many different roles at the firm including: People Business Partners, operations specialists, compliance professionals, etc. The team is also spread across various offices.

Who You’ll Work With:

AB is looking for a Summer Intern to support the Employment and International legal group. You will provide assistance and support to the attorney team who provides legal and regulatory advice, and manages claims and litigations relating to employment law, benefits, immigration, data privacy and international matters. 

What You’ll Do:

As the summer intern, you will primarily execute your responsibilities in partnership with the team of attorneys that support employment law matters. This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your responsibilities include assisting with legal research, preparing legal memoranda and providing support in various activities in pre-litigation and litigation matters, including but not limited to e-discovery.  In addition, you will assist in drafting templates, policies and other documents.  We anticipate that you will also have opportunities to learn about and provide assistance to AB’s Wealth Management group, and additional activities as directed by management.

We will invest in you as you attend meetings on new regulatory initiatives and participate in compliance-training efforts. You will use the knowledge you gain to support the development of compliance policies and procedures. This role may also be asked to assist in broader firm-wide legal and compliance initiatives and projects.

What We’re Looking For:

•   Successful completion of the first year of law school
•    Eligible for  employment in the US without visa sponsorship (now or in the future)
•    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
