Legal Secretary Location: Wichita, KS, 67206 Skills: Legal Secretary, Family Law

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Secretary with experience in Family Law to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to the attorney and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in a fast-paced family law environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information, and a thorough understanding of legal procedures and documentation in family law cases.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, including pleadings, motions, correspondence, and court forms.
  • File legal documents with courts through electronic filing systems.
  • Manage calendars, schedule client meetings, court hearings, and mediation sessions.
  • Maintain and organize client files, both physical and digital, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and answering basic questions regarding case progress.
  • Schedule and confirm client appointments and consultations.
  • Assist with assembling evidence and exhibits for court proceedings.
  • Track case deadlines, ensuring attorneys meet filing and response deadlines.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Legal experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal software
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • The working hours for this position are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
