Job Description

Calibrate is working on behalf of an esteemed 170-year-old Am Law 50 firm with over 975 attorneys across 14 offices worldwide in the search for an exceptional Senior Manager, Strategic Human Resources Business Partner. Collaborating closely with the Director of HR, this role helps architect and execute comprehensive HR initiatives aligned with the firm's priorities. This role can be based in the firm’s Chicago office, with periodic travel to maintain meaningful relationships across the organization.

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: In close collaboration with leadership, shape the overall HR strategy and direction, ensuring alignment with the firm's business priorities.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters, providing expert guidance to attorneys and business professionals alike.
  • Performance Management: Partner with Talent Management to oversee performance evaluations for assigned regional business units, guide managers on employee development and oversee performance management.
  • Knowledge Management: Equip managers with HR expertise through targeted training programs focused on training, development, recognition, engagement, performance management, and employee relations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 12+ years of progressive strategic human resource management experience in a professional services environment (law firm experience a plus)
  • 7+ years of experience of team/people management
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to the applicable local office with the ability and willingness to come into the office 3-4 days per week.

Employees are entitled to competitive compensation that aligns with their skills and experience. Exact pay will depend on factors such as expertise, experience, location, and other considerations allowed by law. The expected base salary range for this position is $173,000- $190,000.
