In this role, you will act as a key advisor and first point of legal contact for the Snowflake product and engineering teams building and supporting various service and product offerings, including the Snowflake Marketplace, where our customers can discover, buy, and sell data, apps, and AI products, and Snowflake Data, our own first-party data product.
In support of these offerings, you will partner with teams across Snowflake, facilitate cross-functional communication and problem solving, develop and support new business and legal processes, and help drive on-platform collaboration responsibly.
This role is based in Menlo Park, California with a hybrid in-office requirement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advise product and engineering teams on new and existing features, services, and products in connection with offerings including Snowflake Marketplace and Snowflake Data.
Work closely with product and engineering teams at each stage of the product development lifecycle to understand and evaluate product plans and implementation details and make recommendations.
Advise and support go-to-market initiatives, including by maintaining legal terms and policies applicable to Snowflake Marketplace and Snowflake Data.
Collaborate with compliance and business teams to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including by identifying requirements, designing controls, and helping drive their operationalization.
Perform due diligence in advance of Snowflake Marketplace and Snowflake Data launching in new jurisdictions.
Partner with the Snowflake Marketplace Operations team and advise on disputes, policy enforcement, trust, and quality issues.
Work cross-functionally within the legal team and the broader organization, including with product, engineering, operations, privacy, security, compliance, intellectual property, marketing, partnerships, and sales teams.
Provide sound, practical advice and guidance on legal and business-related issues to senior legal and business leaders.
REQUIREMENTS:
JD from an accredited law school, membership in at least one state bar, and ability to practice in California
At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
Ability to quickly learn and support new technologies
Ability to explain complicated business and legal concepts in simple terms
Willingness to raise your hand for projects, big and small
Willingness to flex project management skills
