District of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ. The selectee of this position serves as an Administrative Officer. You will be responsible for planning, implementing and directing District administrative programs in support of the mission of the United States Marshals Service.
DutiesAs an Administrative Officer at the GS-0341- 13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Supervising the District administrative staff.
- Overseeing and coordinating all administrative support for the main District office and District sub-offices.
- Planning the work to be accomplished by subordinates; establishing priorities, assigning work, evaluating work performance, and providing advise, guidance, and counsel to subordinates.
- Interviewing candidates for administrative positions and making selections.
- Developing short and long range plans for District administrative operations.
- Ensuring the administrative and financial management activities are performed accurately and timely in accordance with established regulations and policies.
- Forecasts district financial needs to ensure district funds are obligated and spent in an appropriate manner, staying within allocated funds while dealing with changes in programs, staffing levels, and/or unanticipated events tied to mission workload.
- Develop and implement effective and regular communication with staff as well as agency divisions: Human Resources, Information Technology, the Procurement Office, Financial Service, and the Management Support Division.

GS-13 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GS-0341-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability:1) Advising management on budgetary matters such as status of funds, acquisition plans, account shortfalls, and financial regulation compliance; 2) Projecting current year expenditure (both deficit and surpluses) based on year-to-date budgetary information; 3) Applying a variety of purchasing regulations, methods, and procedures to acquire services and supplies using purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, or fixed price negotiated contracts; and 4) Providing assistance with reviewing or entering monthly open obligation reports to ensure accurate status of obligations, accruals, and paid transactions
