The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) oversees capital projects undertaken by state agencies and state-supported higher education institutions; manages Ohio's school facility programs which support the construction and renovation of public K-12 schools; and administers the funding for community-based cultural and sports facilities projects.
The Commission sets uniform rules, procedures, and standardized documents for state construction under Chapter 153.
The legislature established the Commission in 2012 with the merger of the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) and the former Office of State Architect. In 2013, the Commission undertook oversight of the cultural facilities grants program. In 2017, the legislature further folded all OSFC duties and responsibilities into the Commission, consolidating guidance and oversight for its various programs into one entity.
In 2021, the Commission celebrated 100 years of public construction in the Buckeye State.
What We Do:
The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission oversees capital projects undertaken by state agencies and state-supported institutions of higher education; manages Ohio's school facility programs which provide support for the construction and renovation of public K-12 schools; and administers the funding for community-based cultural and sports facilities projects.
What You'll Do:
- Acts as Records Manager for the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) including review, preparation, and logging records for retention, off-site storage, and disposition following OFCC’s records retention schedules
- Independently manages a system of data collection & records maintenance (i.e., hard copy & electronic records) for OFCC & acts as lead worker over clerical staff assigned
- Establishes procedures for maintenance & storage of records
- Maintains inventory of records
- Establishes retention periods based upon their administrative, legal & fiscal value & presents retention schedule to OFCC and Records Management Section of the Department of Administrative Services for approval
- Controls distribution of records
- Establishes procedures for maintenance & storage of records
- Responds to inquiries & requests for information
- Maintains communication with various OFCC divisions for the purpose of obtaining & distributing information & carrying out records maintenance responsibilities
- Advises OFCC staff concerning data collection & records maintenance
- Provides testimony or affidavits, as needed related to OFCC records maintenance; prepares policies and provides training on records management
- Provides paralegal support for Legal Staff relevant to OFCC school, higher education & agency construction projects on an as-needed basis
- Produces spreadsheets, reports & general correspondence as required
- Other duties as required

Maternity Benefits Available to Enrolled State Employees
The State of Ohio is expanding maternity health care benefits available to state employees enrolled in the Ohio Med PPO and Ohio Med NN (narrow network) medical plan options. Several prenatal, childbirth, and post-childbirth services will be provided at no out-of-pocket cost to employees utilizing network providers.
Examples of services now covered by network providers at 100% include:
Prenatal care, including physician visits and examinations.
Home health care services are designated as maternity care (for expectant members on bed rest).
Inpatient claims for all types of delivery.
Inpatient NICU claims, from birth through discharge.
Postpartum care, including office visits for follow-up, and procedures/treatments directly related to maternity.
Medications prescribed for both antepartum and postpartum conditions (e.g., morning sickness, postpartum depression). Medical services provided by non-network providers will be processed at the applicable coinsurance, deductible, and out-of-pocket limits.
Prescription drugs that are directly related to maternity care will be covered with no copay. The State of Ohio has collaborated with the prescription drug third-party administrator (OptumRx) to provide a list of covered medications that can be approved for zero copays via prior authorization from providers.

- 4+ years of legal administrative support OR paralegal OR records management experience
- Organizational, analytical, tracking, and monitoring skills
- Ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, establish facts, and recommend solutions
