About Us:
At Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community under the Legal Services Department, we are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive and highly motivated Staff Attorney to join our legal team. This role is ideal for an experienced licensed attorney with strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and passion for providing legal support for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Tribal Members and their families.Responsibilities Provide legal counsel and support on a range of matters related to the interest of clients and the Community. Draft, review, prepare legal documents and represent clients in tribal, state and federal forums. Conduct legal research and apply appropriate State and Tribal statutes, ordinances and other laws, rules, regulations and policies as they pertain to legal issues presented for review. Communicate orally, and in writing, with administrative staff, community members, department directors, members of the general public, administrative staff, outside entities, and co-workers. Represent clients in both tribal and state court proceedings, with a focus on family law, probate matters, and other legal aid related cases.
Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active license to practice law in AZ State 2-5 years of relevant legal experience Experience in Family Law and Probate Law preferred
