JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: In-House Attorney

Department: Legal

Reports to: General Counsel


Job Summary:

    Wesley LLC is seeking an experienced attorney to join our legal team and support the General Counsel.  In this role, you will oversee complex legal matters and assist with in-house policies, and you will be instrumental in helping to identify and protect the company from legal risks by conducting thorough research and analysis. Additionally, you will be responsible for structuring, drafting, and reviewing legal documents.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with formulating company policies and positions on legal issues

  • Conduct research to identify and mitigate potential legal risks and provide legal advice in a timely manner

  • Provide guidance and support to various departments to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations

  • Draft, structure, and review legal documents and reports

  • Assist with preparation, review, and management of contracts 

  • Review bills and invoices from outside counsel

  • Assist General Counsel with litigation management

  • Collaborate with General Counsel and executive team on complex legal issues

  • Provide advice and counsel on employment related issues including but not limited to compliance, employee relations, performance management, discipline and terminations, reasonable accommodations, leave of absence, and compensation and benefits

  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Proficient with Google workspace, Google docs, Microsoft Word, etc.

  • Must be a self-starter, extremely detail oriented, able to work independently and in a team environment, regularly meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities


Education and Experience:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school

  • Active license to practice law in TN

  • Must have been licensed for a minimum of 8 years
