Summary

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal based in the Washington, D.C. office. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,300 lawyers located in 16 offices in six countries.


The ideal candidate brings extensive experience supporting complex litigation in federal and state courts, with demonstrated excellence managing matters from inception through trial and appeal. Mastery of Bluebook citation rules and rigorous cite checking are essential. This role requires exceptional judgment, meticulous attention to detail, strong project management, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with attorneys, staff, clients, experts, vendors, and co-counsel in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The Senior Litigation Paralegal will serve as a core member of case teams and will be responsible for end-to-end litigation support, including:

  • Cite checking and Bluebook-compliant formatting of briefs, memoranda, and correspondence; creating and updating Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents using tools such as Best Authority or equivalent; verifying quotations, authorities, docket references, and record citations and maintaining accurate appendix/record citations for dispositive and appellate filings.
  • Creating, implementing, and supervising litigation case management systems, including electronic and hard-copy file management, case calendaring, and trial activities.
  • Managing court filings in federal and state courts, including D.D.C., D.C. Circuit, and DC Superior Court; e-filing via CM/ECF/PACER; coordinating with the Managing Attorney’s Office for service copies and court-specific requirements; and ensuring compliance with local rules and judge-specific practices.
  • Assisting with discovery-related tasks, including privilege log formatting, redactions, basic searching, printing, and other related functions in document review platforms such as Relativity.
  • Preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations, including exhibit and witness management, deposition designations, trial notebooks/binders, demonstratives, and war-room logistics; coordinating trial site set-up, vendor logistics, and providing in-courtroom support to the trial team.
  • Conducting online research; compiling and analyzing evidence; developing chronologies and case assessments; and maintaining case databases and document repositories.
  • Mentoring and training to junior paralegals; ensuring quality control and consistency across all deliverables.
  • Maintaining accurate dockets, records, and task reports; driving proactive communication and follow-through across internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

Pay Range
USD $120,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
Pay Range Statement

The salary range for this role represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
