The Department of Justice, Legal Support Operations is currently seeking a well-rounded, friendly individual to fill our Office Technician (Typing) position.
As a member of the legal support team in the Docketing Unit, the Docketing Technicians will perform technical duties by accessing the Prolaw system which include, but are not limited to, independently enter data from legal documents into Prolaw, research data which requires the knowledge and understanding of the processing requirements for Prolaw, and may provide reports from the data base to legal staff on request. The Docketing Technicians will assist in records management activities, which include monitoring Records Disposition Schedules, boxing and labeling closed case files, preparing records transfer lists, entering data into the Prolaw files module, and requesting case files from the department's records centers. The Docketing Technicians will also be required to maintain regular communication with legal staff and other departmental staff, court clerks, and counsel to exchange and obtain information regarding docketing of cases is necessary.

The Docketing Technicians must demonstrate excellent work habits such as good attendance. punctuality, dependability, flexibility and accuracy of work product. Knowledge of departmental policies and an understanding of the critical nature of the timely processing of all legal documents is helpful. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.

New-to State employees will be given the minimum salary of Range A, unless you meet Alternate Range Criteria 230for Sr. Legal Typist.
