Sr Legal Assistant - LU10BN

Uses appropriate software to timely prepare correspondence, reports, briefs, motions, pleadings, deposition summaries, and other documents required by the attorney. Documents prepared consistent with court requirements. Can produce documents from dictation, transcription, handwritten, other. Keeps attorney calendar current based on court notifications, depositions, office events, etc. Schedules depositions with needed parties (ESS). Assist attorneys as needed in preparation for trial or discovery. Timely input of data required by office systems to track work (Timekeeper, Abaccus, etc.) Data should be maintained according to the timeframe required by the supervisor. Mail is opened, reviewed and distributed/filed as appropriate. Interacts with diverse parties. Demonstrates courtesy, professionalism and responsiveness to the contact. Opens and close files using established procedures. (Note: In some offices, this work is done by the Office Administrator. If that is the case, this item is N/A). Filing completed timely; generally within 10 days. Notifies supervisor if filing gets behind to enable supervisor to address issue as appropriate. Other duties as assigned by supervisor including photocopy/fax work. Each office has unique work needs. Secretaries should be prepared to provide other assistance as needed to office or attorneys (ESS).Qualifications:
  • Strong spoken communication skills including an excellent phone manner
  • Computer/software skills (Windows, Word, Excel, other)
Work Arrangements:
  • This is a fully remote, work-from-home opportunity; however, applicants must currently reside in the state of California.
Internet Requirements:
  • For full-time, occasional, part-time, or remote positions: (1) high speed broadband internet service is required, we do not recommend or support DSL, wireless, Wi-Fi, Hotspots, Fiber without a modem and Satellite; (2) Internet provider supplied modem/router/gateway is hardwired to the Hartford issued computer with an ethernet cable; and (3) 100MB download/10MB upload.  Contact/Call center role using Genesys softphone and Citrix/ATO users.  Users who participate in frequent Teams video conferences, as well as those who download/upload large file content throughout the workday.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$57,200 - $85,800
