Job Description

Job Summary:

The Bronx District Attorney is committed to serving the over 1.5 million members of the Bronx County community through the Office’s groundbreaking mission of “Pursuing Justice with Integrity” by fulfilling our duty to victims and providing fairness to defendants. We are looking for a diverse staff that reflects the community we serve, and we are currently seeking candidates for the position of entry-level Assistant District Attorney commencing on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Assistant District Attorneys are given considerable responsibility early in their careers. Once proficient, Assistant District Attorneys handle serious and complex cases. Assistant District Attorneys must abide by a commitment of three years of initial service to the Office of the District Attorney. Assistant District Attorneys are routinely required to perform evening, night, weekend, and holiday assignments and respond on a 24-hour basis to crime scenes, police precincts, and booking facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Required: U.S. Citizenship as of the first day of employment as required by New York Public Officers Law § 3 (1)
  • Required: New York State residency, as of the first day of employment
  • Required: JD class of 2026 or Recent law school graduate admitted to the New York State Bar
  • Required: Sit for the first available UBE after graduation from law school
  • Required: Sit for first MPRE prior to the first day of employment
  • Required: Sat for the NYLE prior to the first day of employment
  • Required: Commitment of three years of initial service
  • Demonstrated interest in public service and criminal law.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information


Salary and Benefits: $85,000 unadmitted; $90,000 admitted.

Benefits include health coverage includes, but is not limited to medical, dental, and vision benefits, pre-health, dependent care, and transit spending account options, annual and sick leave, deferred compensation, NYC Employees Retirement System Pension and other benefits.
