Job Description

Introduction

The Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Prince William County, Cities of Manassas & Manassas Park is looking for an experienced prosecutor for the position of Deputy Chief of Staff.

About the role

As part of the executive leadership team, this position assists the Chief of Staff with organizing and prioritizing critical issues needed to be addressed by the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. Duties also include providing oversight and guidance to line attorneys; handling dockets and case assignments on all levels of court; and representing the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in civic minded activities within the community we serve.


Minimum Requirements.

Juris Doctorate degree and 4 years of related experience that includes management and supervisory experience.

Special Requirements:

Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar. 


Preferences:

The ideal candidate must have a Juris Doctorate degree and ten or more years of related experience. The selected applicant must: be able to work both independently and collaboratively in an office that values civility, initiative, sound judgment and skilled advocacy


NOTE: This is an at-will position which serves at the pleasure of the Commonwealth's Attorney. Please attach a resume and cover letter to the attention of the Honorable Amy Ashworth, Commonwealth’s Attorney. 

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 08:30am – 05:00pm, 37.5 hours/week

Starting Salary Range: $137,275.00 to $145,000.00 Annual
