Job Description

This position is in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), Tribal Affairs Division (TAD). The position will serve as a member of the OVW program management team and supervise a staff of Grant Management Specialists. Remote work may be approved for applicants outside the Washington, DC commuting area. Candidates located within the Washington DC locality area may be required to report to the worksite and telework in accordance with agency policy.

The duties and responsibilities for a 1109 Supervisory Grants Management Specialist generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Plans, organizes, and oversees efforts and projects that improve the quality, effectiveness, and timeliness of program accomplishment. Coordinates with tribal leaders and communities to initiate and implement various programs and services. Plans, analyzes, and oversees grant management policies impacting a wide range of grant programs. Develops and refines grants management policies, methods, and operational approaches as needed to implement new or unprecedented grants management programs. Salary

Qualifications To qualify for the position of Supervisory Grants Management Specialist, (GS-1109-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade. If you are a current Department of Justice employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. There may also be a positive education requirement for some occupations, please see the Education section for details. If there are licensing or certification requirements, please see the Required Documents section for details on how to verify you license or certificate. To qualify for the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Providing advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on work and administrative matters related to grant programs. Developing, analyzing, or overseeing grant management policies impacting grant programs. Working with grant programs directly related to tribes, tribal organizations, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, sex trafficking, and/or similar victim and family support programs. Recommending necessary changes and developing authoritative recommendations for formal action.
