- Job Summary
Provides legal support work to county court attorneys for law-related tasks and also provides training in such legal work. Performs a variety of non-routine and complex administrative duties requiring significant familiarity with the legal field within the District Attorney’s Office to include: Maintenance of all Electronic Traffic and Misdemeanor Case Files, preparing legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, organizing and coordinating County Court dockets and assisting County Court attorneys with case preparation, discovery for all traffic/misdemeanor cases handled by the Attorney, ordering Certified Records, closing traffic/misdemeanor files, and a variety of other clerical duties assigned by respective County Court Attorney or Office Administrator.
- Essential Job Functions
Provide discovery to defense attorneys and defendants on all T/M cases.
Manage all aspects of County Court docket: prepare pleadings and e-file, preparation for all Hearings and Jury Trials, including preparing subpoenas to be sent out for service, responsible for maintaining records for the return of subpoenas, contact with witnesses/victims for such hearings.
Use NCIC/CCIC computer to request criminal and driving background checks from COLORADO BUREAU OF INVESTIGATIONS, as well as certified convictions from other states and to communicate with other law enforcement agencies for T/M matters.
Open Traffic/Misdemeanor e-files and close all T/M files; mail disposition letters to victims and law enforcement agencies.
Maintaining all electronic T/M case files, uploads from law enforcement, scan and upload internal documents for case record. Ordering required certified records/pen paks as requested by attorney.
Shares in answering phones, reception duties, and back-up coverage with other legal assistant staff, including problem solving and difficult situations, assist with file annual file purge.
Other tasks pertaining to Sealing Criminal Records by court order.
Performs related work and miscellaneous clerical duties as required.
May be reassigned in emergency situations.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer, calculator, fax machine, NCIC/CCIC Certification/OSN, Colorado State Courts E-Filing, Colorado Court Data Access, Action/DA Case Management/E-Discovery.

- Minimum Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED, and
One year of progressively responsible related experience, or
Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses and Certifications:
OSN Certification from Colorado Bureau of Investigations for use of NCIC/CCIC for criminal background history (obtained here after employment)- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Office administrative and clerical practices and procedures; operation of standard office equipment, including a computer.
Filing methods.
Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary; standard business arithmetic.
Computer applications related to the work.

Skill in:
Using tact, discretion, initiative, and independent judgment within established guidelines.
Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines and following up assignments with a minimum of direction.
Typing at a rate of 50 net words per minute.
