Job Description
Legal Guidance and Compliance:
- Offer proactive legal counsel on a variety of matters.
- Develop and implement compliance strategies, policies, and procedures across various locations to mitigate legal risks.
Contracts and Negotiations:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including vendor contracts, leases, employment agreements, and partnership arrangements.
- Ensure contractual agreements align with legal requirements and protect the organization's interests.
- Collaborate with outside counsel on a variety of matters.
Litigation Management:
- Manage and oversee litigation matters, working closely with external counsel when necessary.
- Conduct investigations and assessments regarding potential legal risks and disputes, providing recommendations and resolutions.
Training and Education:
- Provide training and educational sessions to internal stakeholders, ensuring awareness and understanding of legal implications in their roles and operations.
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, update, and implement policies and procedures in accordance with legal and regulatory changes.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize legal exposure and ensure proactive risk management across the organization.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredidted US Law School and active Bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience practicing law, preferably in Construction Law.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and review.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
