1. Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
The candidate must have a minimum of:
a. Bachelor’s Degree
b. Paralegal Certificate
c. Eligible to work in New York State
2. Job Description and Required Services:
- Use your paralegal skills: case management, organization, document review, communication, and detail orientation for
regulatory applications requiring approval of the Life Bureau.
-Assist with Segregated Gift Annuity Fund licensing, including maintaining records of required applicant materials submitted
and retention of documents.
-Assist Segregated Gift Annuity Fund attorneys and actuaries in their respective roles.
-Review draft audit reports and memorandums.
-Conduct legal and insurance research for the Life Bureau Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Deputy Superintendents,
and Life Bureau senior staff as needed.
-Assist with drafting materials (ex. Consent Orders, Stipulations) under supervision of Deputy Superintendent or senior staff.
-Review and summarize industry and regulatory reports, including National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)
materials.
-Review and summarize proposed and final legislative materials.
In addition, the candidate must possess and/or have the ability to:
-Strong attention to detail
-Excellent writing skills
-Ability to multitask
