This candidate will join a well-funded, fast-growing technology startup with the unique opportunity to help build out a critical function for the company.
As their Director of Legal Operations, you will lead and manage all aspects of their legal processes. This role is ideal for a seasoned paralegal or legal operations professional with extensive experience in corporate governance, compliance, commercial contracts, and risk management, who is ready to build out this function from scratch.
This Director plays a pivotal role in safeguarding Our clients legal and regulatory interests while supporting its growth and innovation. This individual will oversee all aspects of the company’s legal functions, including compliance, corporate governance, contract management, and risk mitigation. The role involves providing strategic legal advice to executive leadership and collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure business objectives are achieved within legal and ethical boundaries. The ideal candidate is a seasoned legal professional who excels at balancing business needs with regulatory compliance and is eager to contribute to Our clients long-term success.
What you will do:
- ● Lead and oversee all legal operations, including corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and contract administration.
- ● Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and NDAs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- ● Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations, including data privacy laws (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and industry-specific standards.
- ● Develop and implement internal policies, procedures, and controls to manage legal and regulatory risks.
- ● Partner with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Customer Success, Product, and HR, to provide proactive legal guidance and support.
- ● Manage relationships with external legal counsel, ensuring cost-effective use of legal resources.
- ● Lead internal legal training programs on compliance, contract best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- ● Maintain accurate records of legal matters, contracts, and compliance documentation.
- What we look for:

● Minimum of 10 years of experience as a paralegal, legal operations professional, or equivalent, with a focus on corporate governance, compliance, and commercial contracts.
● Demonstrated success in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements within SaaS or technology industries.
● Deep understanding of data privacy laws, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
● Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with experience influencing stakeholders across various departments.
● Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive results.
● Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
● Extremely detail-oriented, analytical, and methodical.
