Job Description:

Job Summary

eaching at the undergraduate and possibly the graduate level. Teaching financial accounting through the advanced level and at least one secondary area with a strong preference given to candidates qualified to teach cost accounting, graduate managerial accounting, and/or other upper-level accounting courses.  The integration of AI tools into the classroom.  The normal teaching load is nine credit hours per semester, but a six-credit hour per semester teaching load will be granted for the first academic year.  Publishing scholarly research in accordance with AACSB requirements and providing service to the department, school, and university are also requirements of the position. Utilize effective teaching and classroom management strategies which enhance the success of diverse learners.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

 1) PhD/DBA degree or ABD in Accounting, from an AACSB accredited institution.  If ABD, doctoral degree must be completed before date of hire; 2) Potential or demonstrated ability to be an excellent teacher; 3) Potential or demonstrated ability to publish a steady stream of peer-reviewed scholarly research; 4) Interest in teaching in a hybrid or online format; and 5) Professional certification or commitment to attain certification within two years of starting date of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will already have experience using AI in the classroom, an emerging portfolio of peer-reviewed publications in academic journals, and at least one professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, etc.).

The position is a full-time, exempt state role with comprehensive benefits.
