Duties Job Description Criminal Division AUSAs prosecute federal crimes committed in Wyoming, including violent crimes, drug trafficking, child exploitation, fraud and other white-collar offenses, firearms offenses, civil rights offenses, human trafficking, terrorism, public corruption, major crimes committed on the Wind River Indian Reservation, and petty offenses committed on federal property. As federal prosecutors, AUSAs advise law enforcement during investigations, make charging decisions, appear before the grand jury, research and write motions and other criminal pleadings, conduct hearings and jury trials, and defend convictions on appeal and collateral review. The office has two openings for experienced prosecutors to serve as AUSAs in the Criminal Division in either our Cheyenne or Casper offices.
