Job Description

An internship with American Family is a great opportunity to build your skillset and explore your career interests. Our summer student internship is a 10 to 14 week program that starts in mid to late May and ends in August. During your internship, you’ll work on impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities. You’ll also gain exposure to different areas of our business and have numerous opportunities for networking and coaching.



Interns may be eligible for a one-time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to an American Family office.



Compensation is based off of graduation year and degree you are pursuing

Compensation Minimum: $25.00

Compensation Maximum: $39.00

As our law student intern, you will work on many aspects of new and ongoing cases, such as research and writing memoranda, motions, and briefs on various substantive legal topics for Arizona, Nevada and California. In addition, there will be many opportunities to attend and provide input at depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and court hearings. You may also be asked to help draft various documents for hearings, mediations/settlement conferences, trial, and may assist with the attorney in trial, if possible.


This role may be considered for a Full-Time in Office or Hybrid work arrangement based on the selected candidate’s location. Work locations for this role include: Phoenix, AZResponsibilities:

•You will develop an understanding of our business environments, corporate culture and structure to support work projects.

• Supports new ideas and systems. Produce creative ideas and actions in response to changing situations.

• Support and plans work on small projects with direction from management.

• You may assume the responsibilities normally performed in the department, alongside professionals who perform these roles.

• Present project results to management and department personnel.

• Perform analytical work within the assigned functional area.

Requirements:

· Must be currently pursuing a Law Degree at an accredited law school.

· Must have completed first year of law school

· Must have completed Legal Writing
