In order to be considered for this Attorney opportunity, an active license for the State of Texas is required. You will play a crucial role in providing expert legal representation to veterans navigating the complexities of disability benefit claims, with a focus on cases related to PTSD. Experience in clerkships, health care policy, and/or Veteran Affairs matters is optimal for the high-volume casework assigned. While day-to-day work may be remote, travel may be required to meet clients and court dates as necessary.

Position: Attorney
Location: Texas - Remote work from home.
Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 + contingency

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to Veterans in disability benefits claims, particularly those related to PTSD

  • Manage a caseload of Veterans' disability claims, ensuring timely and effective resolution

  • Conduct legal research, analyze cases, and develop effective legal strategies

  • Prepare and file legal documents, attend hearings, and represent clients in court when necessary

  • Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure their rights are protected, and they receive fair treatment in the disability claims process

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including legal support staff and external experts, to strengthen case outcomes

  • Travel will be required in-state according to the casework

Requirements:

  • Be a licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar, or pursuing licensed within the state

  • 3+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on Veterans' benefits or related areas (Social Security, Appeals)

  • Strong understanding of disability benefits laws and regulations

  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills

  • Military veterans highly preferred
