Position Information:
The Legal Affairs, Policy, and Compliance Officer serves as a central point of contact for families, students, employees, and community members regarding the status and process of formal complaints. This position helps ensure that when concerns are raised with the District, they are processed in accordance with applicable laws, board policies, procedures, and required timelines. In addition, this position supports district leaders in reviewing, developing, and implementing district policies, procedures, and related operational processes.
Shift Details: 8 hours a day; 260 day calendar
Continuing Position: Employees have reasonable assurance of continued employment to the following school year. However, an employee's total work hours, work locations, and the designated beginning and ending times may vary.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hourly Rate: $121,422.20 Annually (2025-2026 Professional - Technical Employee Salary Schedule) [Effective Sep. 1, 2026: $126,173.79 Annually]

Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in legal studies, public administration, communications, human resources, or a related field; *
- At least three (3) years of progressive work experience in one or more of the following roles: paralegal, legal assistant, public sector executive assistant, contracts administrator, compliance coordinator, policy analyst, or legal analyst.
* Human Resources may consider work experience, certification equivalency, and continuing education as an alternative to the degree when assessing this required qualification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) by SCCE is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
- Experience coordinating complex processes involving timelines, compliance requirements, and multiple stakeholders is preferred.
- Experience working in a setting requiring discretion, diplomacy, empathy, and attention to detail is preferred.
- Experience in a K�12 public school district or other public-sector organization is preferred.
- Familiarity with board policy development and implementation is preferred.
- Multi-lingual/bi-lingual preferred.
