SUMMARY:
Under the leadership of the Department Head and CHSSA Dean’s Office, the Ad Interim Paralegal Program Director provides vision and direction for the Paralegal Studies Program. The Director oversees all aspects of program administration, curriculum development, accreditation, budgeting, and faculty management to ensure high-quality student outcomes. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Office Hours
• Must maintain a specified number of weekly office hours in-person at the Commerce campus (during regular M-F business hours to be determined with the Department Head of Social Sciences)
Program & Curriculum Development
- Implement assessment plans and use data for continuous improvement
Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and oversee program budget, scheduling, and resource allocation
Accreditation & Partnerships
- Maintain ABA approval and other external partnerships through self-studies, reports, and site reviews
Faculty & Staff Leadership
- Hire, onboard, and supervise full- and part-time instructors
- Promote faculty development in law and pedagogy
Student Success & Advising
- Advise students on coursework, career paths, and internship opportunities
- Track and report on graduation, placement, and employer satisfaction metrics
External Engagement
- Build relationships with law firms, courts, and employers
- Facilitate internships and practical learning experiences
Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Department Head or Dean’s Office
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and Experience: Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master’s/Ph.D. in a relevant legal discipline. Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline. 1 or more years of relevant full-time professional experience with PH.D. 2 or more years of relevant full-time professional experience with J.D. 3 or more years of relevant full-time professional experience with Master’s degree.

- Course scheduling, instructional assignments, and budget planning
- Faculty hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and grievance management

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
