The Production Control Analyst designs, deploys and supports scheduled jobs and workflows utilizing BMC Control-M to support mission critical business functions.  This role works closely with IT, business teams, and clients to gather requirements to efficiently implement workload automation.  Provides technical expertise performing day to day application changes within the Enterprise Scheduling environments and critical batch processing.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Hands on experience with Workload Automation software, such as BMC Control-M or Redwood ActiveBatch.
  • Work closely with IT, Business, and clients to gather requirements to efficiently implement automation solutions.
  • Coordinates and implements job scheduling definitions on new and existing projects for the Development and Production environments.
  • Move test elements into the production environment in a required timeframe.
  • Work on day-to-day operational tasks and requests from the Business
  • Strive to automate manual processes
  • Setup and maintain file transfers jobs
  • Maintain annual job schedule calendar
  • When required, responsible for providing 24x7 operations support including maintenance windows.
  • Monitor job schedule and follow escalation procedures
  • Creates and responds to proactive system monitors with appropriate countermeasures.
  • Pro-actively monitor the Development and Production environments to ensure performance on the servers.
  • Work with complex job streams or workflows and be able to identify problems that occur within it.
  • Analyze log files to troubleshoot and solve issues; Identify potential solutions to resolve and prevent service interruptions
  • Installation and upgrading workload automation software noting feature updates and bug fixes that can improve the environment.
  • Create and maintain documentation on architecture, procedures, and how-to guides.
  • Proactively identifies and schedules change events following change control procedures
  • Assist with Change Control procedures and meetings
  • Mentor and train others
  • Additional duties as requested or required

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 5-7 years of information Technology experience, with three to five years experience in installation and support of workload automations software.
  • Experience with file transfer tools like FileZilla or WinSCP.
  • Experience with FTP/SFTP/SSH encryption protocols.
  • Experience with scripting languages.  PowerShell preferred.
  • Experience with file encryption software like PGP or GPG.
  • General understanding SSL/TLS certificates, Key Authentication.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills.
  • Well organized and able to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time, understanding the priorities
  • The ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy environment
  • Strong oral and written communications
  • Willingness to learn

Work Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods at the work station, and walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to access computer equipment.
