In this role, you will be responsible for managing the release of documents and evidence to defense counsel in response to subpoenas. You will work closely with district attorneys and United States attorneys to determine which documents should be released. Additionally, you will consult with the Office of Chief Counsel and Department of Bureau Directors to determine the release of specialized documents, evidence, and procedures, such as laboratory requests and radar and speed detection data. Furthermore, you will be responsible for conducting extensive research and gathering information in response to Right-to-Know requests. You will communicate with various bureaus and troops, as well as Right-to-Know Law Coordinators, to ensure that all requested records are collected. You will then review the gathered information and reports to ensure their completeness and make independent decisions on whether to approve or deny the release of requested material. It is crucial that you stay informed and up-to-date on relevant state and federal legislation, court decisions, and department policies and procedures. In addition, you will need to conduct thorough research into any variables associated with the request, as complying with these requests is of paramount importance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Legal Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be willing to report to the office for work. This position does not offer telework.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
