Location Requirements 

DCY’s core hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 8\:00am to 5\:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across DCY divisions.  Employees may begin as early as 7\:00am & as late as 9\:00am, based on supervisory approval. This position performs work on-site daily at DCY’s office space.

The Ohio Department of Children and Youth is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Administrative Professional 4 to provide advanced administrative and communications support to our Legal Division. This role manages complex calendars and meetings, prepares correspondence and presentations, coordinates events, maintains confidential records, and serves as a key liaison across internal teams and external partners. The position also supports website and SharePoint updates, digital and promotional asset management, and basic office equipment coordination. Ideal candidates are strong communicators, adept at balancing multiple priorities, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. 

  • Provide advanced administrative support to the Legal Division, including complex calendar management, meeting coordination, and preparation of agendas and minutes. 
  • Draft and edit correspondence, presentations, and other communication materials for internal and external audiences. 
  • Serve as a central liaison for the division, coordinating information flow across teams, partners, and the public. 
  • Maintain confidential records and support website, SharePoint, and digital content updates. 
  • Assist with event coordination, including logistics, materials, and on-site support at community or partner events. 
  • Manage basic office equipment needs—troubleshooting issues, coordinating repairs, and supporting procurement research.

     

  • Support project tracking, forms management, list maintenance, and general administrative needs for the division.

     

 Preferred Qualifications\: 

  • Experience supporting legal, government, or policy-related teams. 
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including drafting correspondence and preparing presentations. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint). 
  • Experience updating websites, SharePoint sites, or managing digital content. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion. 
  • Familiarity with public sector processes or administrative procedures.

Pay Information

Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.
