The Legal Learning Specialist plays a key role in the design, coordination, and delivery of training content and programs that support the professional development of attorneys and paralegals in addition to non-legal staff. This position supports firm-wide learning initiatives such as the development of departmental SOP’s and course materials. The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS) and will possess strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Training Content Management:
- Manage the firm’s Learning Management System (LMS), including content uploads, content optimization, user management, and troubleshooting.
- Provide day-to-day support for training inquiries and learning systems.
Curriculum Development
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and update learning content that aligns with legal best practices and firm goals.
- Develop and maintain meaningful onboarding and education programs.
- Create e-learning modules, videos, and job aids tailored to legal roles and competencies.
Reporting & Compliance Tracking:
- Monitor and report training participation, feedback, and learning outcomes to identify trends and opportunities.
- Help maintain training records and support audits as needed.
- Generate learning reports to assess program impact and identify areas for enhancement.
Collaboration & Support:
- Partner with practice areas to assess training needs and deliver targeted solutions.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to enhance learning opportunities.
- Meet with new hires to provide seamless onboarding experiences and introductions to the firm’s LMS.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in training, professional development, or operations
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and data reporting tools
- Experience with ScreenSteps is a plus!
