Location: Albuquerque, NM (100% In-Office) Relocation Assistance package $10,000
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $70,000–$90,000 per year (DOE) + $15,000 sign-on bonus paid out incrementally

Parnall Law Firm seeks a skilled and detail-oriented Controller to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strong internal controls. MISSION STATEMENT

To assist the firm in organizing, maintaining, and accounting of all firm’s financials to ensure accurate accounting and transparency of financial positions and key metrics

RESULTS / OUTCOMES (What you must get done.)

  • Attendance at firm meeting every Monday at 8:00 am (in person)
  • Attendance at team mini meetings Tuesday thru Friday at 8:00 am
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and monthly close package
  • Sales Taxes – verify and pay gross receipts taxes monthly.
  • Daily review of holding account report for accuracy (Accounts Payable, Credit card (Spark), Sales Tax Payable, Payroll, etc.
  • Monthly Reports: Complete management spreadsheet (directions on it are included), and compile attachments for Executive team.
  • Keep and reconcile Owner’s personal accounts. 

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attendance at any financial meetings with owner, executive team and CFO
  • Review settlement spreadsheet at the close of each pay period
  • Review bookkeeper’s tasks on a weekly basis
  • ACH initiations for client settlements, reporting and positive pay, when needed.
  • Verify status of checks and provide images when requested, when needed.
  • Internal bank transfers when necessary
  • Maintain the firm’s budget and conduct quarterly review with Owner and CFO
  • Assist Firm Administrator when necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Proven leadership ability, with experience managing and supporting a small team
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
