Location: Parsippany, New Jersey (Midea America Corporation Headquarters) 

Reporting to: General Counsel, Midea Americas 

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt

About the Role:

Midea Americas is seeking an experienced Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead and oversee the company’s corporate compliance program, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The CCO will play a critical role in identifying risks, implementing robust compliance frameworks, and fostering a culture of integrity across the organization. This position reports directly to the General Counsel of Midea Americas and requires a strategic leader with strong regulatory expertise and the ability to influence at all levels. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Compliance Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the company’s compliance program, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices. 

- Risk Management: Proactively identify areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, designing corrective action plans to mitigate exposure. 

- Policy Development & Training: Draft and enforce compliance policies, procedures, and controls. Conduct regular training sessions to educate employees on regulatory requirements and ethical standards. 

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Finance, HR, and Operations teams to embed compliance into business processes and resolve issues efficiently. 

- Monitoring & Audits: Conduct periodic internal audits and risk assessments to evaluate compliance effectiveness and recommend improvements. 

- Regulatory Intelligence: Monitor evolving laws, regulations, and enforcement trends (e.g., AML, FCPA, trade compliance, data privacy) to ensure proactive adaptation. 

- Reporting & Governance: Prepare and present compliance reports to senior leadership, the Board, and external regulators as required. 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field; JD or MBA preferred. 

- Certifications/Licenses: Admission to the New Jersey State Bar (a plus but not required); Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar credentials preferred. 

- Experience:

  - 10+ years of compliance, legal, or risk management experience, preferably in a multinational corporate or regulated industry. 

  - Proven track record in designing and executing compliance programs, including anti-corruption, trade sanctions, and data protection. 

- Key Competencies:

  - Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 

  - Strong leadership with the ability to influence and drive cultural change. 

  - High ethical standards and discretion in handling sensitive/confidential matters. 

  - Excellent communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills. 

 

Working Conditions:

- Hybrid work model with presence in Parsippany, NJ headquarters. 

- Occasional domestic or international travel may be required. 

- Prolonged periods of desk work and computer use.
