Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC is a full-service law firm with offices located in in Akron, Canton, and Cleveland. Founded over 100 years ago, Buckingham and its attorneys are nationally-recognized and award-winning. We are currently seeking a Corporate/Business Attorney who will work in our Cleveland office. The person who fills this role will have the opportunity to inherit work from a talented seasoned attorney who would like to transition into retirement. A desire to work hard, develop, learn, and grow within the firm are essential.
The essential job functions are:
- Drafting and negotiating contracts and advising on related transactions;
- Advising on mergers and acquisitions and business entity governance matters;
- Advising on choice of entity and creating and restructuring business entities;
- Assisting in due diligence efforts and post-deal integration;
- Maintaining a current working knowledge of laws and regulatory developments; and
- Structuring and drafting documents for commercial and finance transactions.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Book of at least 200k;
- In excess of five years of experience in a law firm or in house legal department;
- Experience and/or background in business, tax, commercial transactions, lending, finance, or accounting preferred;
- Strong drafting, research, and writing skills;
- Ability to work effectively with teams and independently, as well as manage and prioritize multiple projects;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Ability to work with staff, attorneys at all levels, and firm clients successfully;
- Candidate must be licensed or attain license to practice law in the State of Ohio.
