Investigation and litigation of Medicaid fraud matters are complex and challenging. AAGs and their teams have the ability to build these investigations from the ground up. Under the supervision of the Unit Director, the AAG will manage their own caseload, including directing investigations, assessing evidence, drafting pleadings, motions and memoranda, resolving cases through litigation or negotiation. The successful candidate for this position will be highly motivated, have a strong sense of justice, desire to enforce the law, a demonstrated ability to work with a team, and be able to collaborate with state and federal law enforcement agencies in the investigation and resolution of cases of common concern.

Requirements / Qualifications:
- Graduation from an ABA accredited law school and a license to practice law in Nebraska, or clear ability to be licensed in Nebraska as soon as possible. Minimum two years’ experience in a law firm or government agency;
- Trial and litigation experience, preferably including white collar, fraud, or other financial matters;
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent writing and work ethic;
- The ability to foster a collegial work environment.
- Experience working with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience involving interpretation and application of agency rules and regulations and court/administrative hearings process helpful.
Other: Some travel required. Applicants must have no felony, serious misdemeanor or domestic abuse related convictions. A criminal history and abuse background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment.
Salary commensurate with comparable state agency positions and candidate experience. Full-time state benefits available. The Assistant Attorney General will work from the Nebraska Department of Justice’s offices located at 1221 N Street in Lincoln.
